1、Precise measurement and planning
Carefully check the drawings and on-site dimensions, and precisely measure the length and width of the installation area.
According to the layout of the support beams (or support structures), plan the laying direction and size of the grating plates. Try to use standard-sized whole boards as much as possible to reduce the amount of cutting.
Consider the drainage direction (if necessary), and ensure that the rib direction (load-bearing direction) of the grid is perpendicular to the support beam to achieve the maximum load-bearing capacity. This is the most crucial point!
2、Safety first
Personal protective equipment: It is necessary to wear a safety helmet, protective glasses, anti-cutting gloves, a dust mask (N95 or higher level, especially important when cutting), and suitable work shoes. When in contact with resin or performing grinding, protective clothing must be worn.
On-site safety: Clear the installation area and remove obstacles. Set up necessary fences or warning signs, especially when working at heights.
Fire prevention: Fiberglass reinforced plastic itself is flame-retardant, but the dust produced during cutting and grinding is flammable. Open flames are prohibited. Fire extinguishers should be provided. Maintain good ventilation in the working area.
3、Material inspection and handling
Check whether the arrived grating plates have any defects such as damage, cracks, obvious deformation or uneven color. Minor scratches usually do not affect performance.
Handle with care to avoid bumping the edges and surfaces. Although FRP has high strength, excessive impact may cause local damage.
Stack the grating plates in the order of installation for easy access.
